Time to get ACTing
We admit it. So far, our workshops have been geared towards those with an interest in musical theatre and gaining experience in the three performing disciplines of acting, singing and dancing. We have done this because we believe in the benefits of a rounded encounter with the performing. However, we recognise that this is not for everyone.
That is why we are excited to announce the start of our ACT Workshops. Over the coming five months, we will take you on a journey through different theatrical styles, taking inspiration from some of the greatest practitioners in theatre, including Stanislavsky, Meisner and Brecht. We will also be taking a look at some Shakespeare, as well as more contemporary playwrights. Each week will give you a different insight and will be led by one of our eight fantastically talented ACT Workshops staff members! You can read about who will be leading the workshops here:
The Workshops kick off on Monday 31 January. That is in just two weeks’ time!
Registration is now open!
Our ACT Workshops are for all aged 15 and over. We welcome people of all ages and language backgrounds. Experience in acting is not necessary, but would be helpful as some of the topics are quite advanced. As always, we have limited places available, and it is first come, first served.
Partnering with The Bridge Theatre
We are now beginning our search for a small number of private sector partners to help us achieve our vision of using the power of theatre to effect social change.
We are convinced that a public-private financing model would ensure the best long-term future for this project. We would therefore love to hear from organisations which want to learn more about the opportunities that a partnership with The Bridge Theatre could bring. Just drop us an email: partnerships@thebridge.brussels.
What’s in the pipeline?
We are delighted to share with you, dear newsletter subscribers, a little information on what else we are planning over the coming months.
First, alongside our current Weekend Workshops and ACT Workshops, we are also building a Musical Theatre Workshop for more experienced individuals. In addition, we are planning to bring our theatrical skills into your offices by providing training sessions that harness the power of theatre. Finally, and most excitingly, we are working on a variety of productions for you to enjoy as audience members later in the year.
If you want to get a little closer to the action, please consider becoming an Individual Patron. Our Individual Patrons get monthly video updates, among other perks, to a glimpse of what goes on “behind the curtain”. January’s video will be out next week. Don’t miss out.
