Announcing our next production
Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune: a contemporary love story that captures the importance of human connection.
Two lonely souls on the search for true connection
We are delighted to announce our next original production: Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune. Our brand new production of this contemporary classic will be performed in RESET in June .
A comedy, written by Tony Award-winning playwright Terrence McNally, Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune follows the tender journey of two people who meet for a night of fiery passion, expecting a return to loneliness. But as desire turns into the possibility of love, they realise that true connection means being unafraid to allow themselves to be seen for who they really are. Set against the backdrop of Debussy's hauntingly beautiful "Clair de Lune," this original Bridge Theatre production of the romantic and vibrant play explores the complexities of human connection, love and vulnerability.
As with all productions of The Bridge Theatre, this is a completely new production that we are creating especially for our audience in Brussels and we cannot wait to share it with you!
The creative team for Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune is headed up by the same fantastic people who brought you Vincent River back in 2021. At the helm is Robert Chevara, an award-winning freelance theatre and opera director who divides his time between London and Berlin (and occasionally Brussels). Other members of the creative team include the designer Jess Curtis, the lighting designer Jessie Addinall and Brussels-based sound designer Ioana Mandrescu.
Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune will be presented in RESET, a temporary cultural event space which also hosted us for LUNGS by Duncan MacMillan in May 2023.
Casting will be announced soon.
