It’s Half-Term for our Weekend Workshoppers
Five weeks down. Five weeks to go. Our two Sunday morning groups have been singing, acting and dancing their socks off to the sultry tunes of Chicago The Musical.
Each Sunday starts with some light singing with Edward, followed by character work with Alex, before getting sweaty with Heidi. Our small groups of mixed ages enable everyone the opportunity to get individual feedback and to shine.
This term culminates is a showcase for invited friends and family and we can’t wait to share our work with them.
From January we will start again, taking a different musical as inspiration. We are open to suggestions so, if you think you might want to join and have a musical that you absolutely love, now is the time to let us know!
Send in your ideas to → info@thebridge.brussels
And, p.s., we are hoping to re-start our ACT Workshops from January 2023. Stay tuned for more!
Podcast: Translation for Theatre
In this month’s episode, Italian playwright and translator, Francesco Bianchi, tells us about what it takes to be a theatrical translator; one of the most pivotal roles to enable playwrights reach new audiences. We explore the challenges that are presented from such an intimate role and the effect that the choice of words can make on the final production, especially when the language used is not directly translatable.
How to Build a Theatre is a podcast series that charts the creation of The Bridge Theatre by looking at the wider theatre industry. Is there an aspect of the theatre sector that you think we should cover in this series? Let us know!
