Our debut production: Vincent River by Philip Ridley
What’s next for The Bridge
Auditions for All Together Now!, Sunday 12 September
We held our first holiday workshop for young people last week. It was an intense week for the 38 participants, who worked hard to put on a show for parents on the final Friday. Hats off to all of you involved; you did amazing work!
If you want to get a taste of how the week went, check out this month’s podcast, which was recorded at the workshop itself.
Now it is your turn to get involved with our autumn workshop for all ages!
Over nine weekends, we will be rehearsing for All Together Now! – a compilation show of songs from the world of musical theatre. Along the way, we will have two special masterclasses by West End professionals: Huw Evans, who is the Associate Musical Director on Come From Away; and Tinovimbanashe Sibande, who is the Dance Captain on Hairspray.
Auditions are open to all and take place on Sunday 12 September. The audition afternoon will be split into two parts:
2pm - 4pm: group work (singing and dancing)
4pm - 8pm: solo auditions (singing)
We have limited places remaining so please sign up soon to avoid disappointment. For those of you who have signed up already, we will send you more details very soon!

2. Our debut production: Vincent River
As you may have seen on social media, our first production comes to Brussels on 20 October and will run for four weeks. Vincent River by Philip Ridley is an intergenerational encounter between Anita and Davey; two grief-stricken strangers connected by their relationship to a young victim of a homophobic murder, Vincent River.
We will announce more details soon…
3. What’s in store for 2022?
We are working hard with our partner venues to find opportunities to bring you even more professional English-language theatre and community participation activities in 2022. This is work-in-progress. If you know of hidden venues that we could rent for a period of four weeks or more, please do let us know.
At the same time, we are assessing the feasibility of a well-known space in Brussels to use as our permanent home. If we decide to go ahead, converting the space into a theatre will require substantial capital input for which we need your help!
You can be part of The Bridge community by becoming a Founding Patron through a donation from as little as €10. Your support will make the difference between whether we can continue down the road of establishing an English-language theatre for Brussels or not. You can read about our rewards on our dedicated page.
We will soon be launching exclusive packages for corporate partners, giving businesses the opportunity to become part of our work of making Brussels a better place to live through sustainable development of the city. If you think your business may be the right fit for this, please drop us an email on finances@thebridge.brussels.
Alternatively, feel free to forward this email to your contacts!
