Seriously though, guys, we are getting comedic this term in our Sunday morning Musical Theatre Workshops with Legally Blonde the Musical.
Each week, we will have one hour of singing tuition, one hour of acting and one hour of dance, using the poppy music and over-the-top characters that appear in the Broadway musical of a blonde woman overcoming stereotypes. We end the term with a showcase for friends and family.
The term lasts for 10 weeks and the sessions are a great way to get active on your Sunday mornings, as well as meet some likeminded musical theatre fans!
Want to get a better idea of the show? There is a great version of it on YouTube; fantastic entertainment for a cold January evening.
Our Musical Theatre Workshops take place on Sundays at Studio Empain, Rue de la Presse 9, Brussels 1000. We have two groups: Intermediates (10am - 1pm) and Beginners (11am - 2pm). The first session is Sunday 15 January.
ACT Workshops
Starting from Sunday 15 January, we are launching a new series of ACT Workshops. These pick-and-choose sessions are deliberately flexible, allowing you the opportunity to drop in when you have time and to the sessions that interest you most.
From working with the voice to physical theatre to developing a character, we have put together a series of sessions that are sure to get you flexing your acting skills in new ways!
Our ACT Workshops are three hours long and take place on Sundays, 16.00 - 19.00 at Grand Hospice in central Brussels.
Note: we only have a few spaces left for the two first sessions in our series, so please do sign up soon if you would like to join us!
Podcast: an Introduction to Dramaturgy
For this month’s podcast episode, we are delighted to be speaking with Kevin Dyer. Kevin is a theatre maker from the UK and he explains to us the role of a dramaturg in the development of new work and how that differs to the job of a playwright.
Kevin has had a fascinating journey within the world of theatre: as an actor, a director and a writer and dramaturg.
How to Build a Theatre is our monthly podcast that charts the creation of The Bridge Theatre by looking at the wider theatre industry. New episodes are released on the first of every month. You can listen to this month’s episode, as well as the full back catalogue, via our website or wherever you find your podcasts.
