More Than Just Theatre
Lungs posits as its central question: how do we, as humans, decide how to live in an environmentally responsible way?
Just as with Vincent River, we are organising an exciting series of Post-Show Talks to get you even deeper into the subject matter. So, on several evenings, we will have talks by prominent Brusselers who will speak about their public and private efforts to lead us towards a more sustainable future. As we are still finalising the details of these, you will see some TBCs on the schedule. So, if you are interested in getting a little extra from your theatre trip, stay tuned for more updates!
Our exciting line-up of guests includes Audrey-Flore Ngomsik, CEO of Trianon Scientific Communication and President of Brussels Binder, and Ellora-Julie Parekh, ESG strategy consultant.
We have also included opportunities to meet the director and interact with the actors.
A European Creative Team
Our production of Lungs is being put together by an experienced team from both the UK and Belgium. Yes, we are really trying to create bridges whenever we can.
The award-winning Kate McGregor will direct our 90-minute drama. Kate is the Artistic Director of Theatre6 and winner of the Noel Coward Trainee Director Bursary. She trained on the Chicago Director's Lab, at the National Theatre Studio and on the Postgraduate Director's Course at Drama Studio London, alongside her First Class BA Honours degree from The Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, in Drama, Applied Theatre and Education. Her numerous directing credits include Estella (an adaptation of Dicken’s Great Expectations), Jane Austin’s Persuasion, and Moira Buffini’s Gabriel.
Kate will be supported by set and costume design by UK-based Charlotte Cooke, sound design by Belgium’s own Stef Van Alsenoy, and lighting design by Brussels-based Marco Bertozzi.
Casting will be announced soon.
