Lungs: One Month To Go
Our next production, Lungs, a play about love and parenthood in the terrifyingly accelerating twenty-first century, opens in just one month!
Lungs charts the course of a couple’s relationship – both the highs and the lows – in a story that is simultaneously funny and moving and that is absolutely relatable to us all.
Again, we have organised a series of post-show talks for you to delve deeper into where we (as humans) stand on efforts towards becoming a more sustainable society. You can check out the programme on our website.
After the first show on Wednesday 17 May, you will also get a unique opportunity to hear from the director of the play, Kate McGregor. She will talk a little about her process for this play and the challenges and opportunities of working within the confines set by the playwright. There will also be plenty of opportunity to ask her your questions. So, if you class yourself as a theatre enthusiast, this is an evening not to be missed.
Try out something new!
Our next series of ACT Workshops kicked of on Sunday. Our ACT Workshops are one-off mini-masterclasses to enable you to try and a different style or facet of theatre. They give you a taster and a chance to experiment to see if that genre is right for you.
The best thing about our ACT Workshops is that you can just choose the Workshops that are of interest to you. You may come to one or you may come every week; it’s your choice!
Upcoming sessions including a focus on a technique called “ghosting” with Henry Regan, an exploration of Theatre of the Absurd with Desislava Krsteva, and a practical guide to using your spoken voice in a healthy way with Jonathon Sawdon.
Last term, these sessions sold out quickly, so be sure to reserve your spot by signing up now.
Workshops for Schools
Last week, we had the delight of working with the Lycée du Vimeu from Hauts-de-France, who were visiting Brussels on a study trip. 40 young people had the chance to flex their acting muscles with our professionals, Michelle and Flora, who used exercises specifically designed to activate the students’ English.
We love working with this age group and will be bringing similar workshops to more schools in the coming months. If your school is interested, simply get in touch!

And, finally, just a reminder that we are organising afternoon performances of Lungs specifically for schools. Contact us for more details.
