“An awesome play”
Vincent River by Philip Ridley is an incredible piece of theatre. For an hour an a half each night for the past two weeks, our audiences have been gripped by the performances of Jo Castleton and Jake McDaid. For a taste, check out the trailer below.
Vincent River runs Wednesdays to Sundays until Saturday 13 November at Full Circle House in Ixelles. We have performances at 5pm and 8pm. Don’t miss your chance to see this beautiful production.
“It really pulled you in. As I was watching it, I was thinking: do I know what’s going to happen? … and as it built, I was really dragged into the story.”
- Martin Shearman, British Ambassador to Belgium
Those of you who have already seen the show will agree that this production deserves to be seen by as wide an audience as possible. Please help us to spread the word by sharing this email with your friends and colleagues.
Post-show chats
This week, we have two exciting events to bring you closer to Vincent River.
On Wednesday 3 November, we will have the privilege of hearing from the play’s two actors, Jo Castleton and Jake McDaid, about preparing for and performing such a piece. They will be taking questions from the floor. An excellent opportunity for those of you interested in the world of theatre.
On Thursday 4 November, we will be joined by Joris Wagemakers, a gay, male, Ixelles resident, who will talk to us about his experiences as a gay man in Belgium and the support initiatives that are available to gay people locally in Brussels.
Our post-show discussions are informal and take place in the 20 minutes immediately after the play.
All Together Now!
There are just two weeks to go until our community cast get up on stage at the Vaudeville Theatre for a showcase of musical theatre. The rehearsal process has been intense, but we have managed to find time for two West End masterclasses!
Our cast of 35 people of different ages and nationalities are creating an extremely special show that is part of a global event. During the same weekend in November, hundreds of community groups around the word will be performing All Together Now! We recently got a special good luck message from a group in Canada, which you can watch for a limited time by clicking the video below.
You can come and see our fantastically talented cast perform songs from Mary Poppins, Rent, Hairspray and more on Sunday 14 November at 5pm and 7.30pm.
