Weekend Workshops begin Sunday 25 September
We are excited to announce that our popular Sunday morning sessions will begin again on 25 September.
Our 10-week course covers acting, singing and dancing and will culminate in a short showing in front of your friends and family.
This Workshop is tailored for adults, although it is open for all ages. This term, we will have two different groups: people with little or no experience (“beginners”) and people who have a higher skill level (“intermediate”). You can find out more via our Workshop Webpage.
And if Musical Theatre is not your thing, stay tuned for more details of our ACT Workshops; we are currently putting together a new series and will come back to you soon with more details.
Anything for younger people?
We know you are all busy, but no one seems busier than your talented children, who run around doing multiple activities throughout the week and so by Sunday they are exhausted! It’s no wonder that they find it hard to commit to weekly sessions with us.
We have not yet seen sufficient interest to launch a weekly course for people aged 9 to 15. However, if some weekend musical theatre could be something you would be interested in, please let us know. If there is demand, we will cater for it!
You can give us your input very simply by filling in our short survey. It will help us to determine what direction we next go in with regard to our activities for young people.
September Podcast – out today!
Did you know you can also follow our progress via a monthly podcast? In each episode of How to Build a Theatre, your co-hosts Phil and Edward chart the progress of the creation of a new theatre by talking to a special guest about the wider theatrical world. This month, they chat with Dutch theatre maker, Lara Staal, who is an associate at NT Gent. They talk about what makes the essence of theatre and touch upon Europe-wide efforts to make the theatre sector more sustainable.
You can find our podcast – How to Build a Theatre – on Spotify, Apple Podcasts or wherever you subscribe to your audio indulgences. If you can’t find it, just let us know!
