Vincent River by Philip Ridley
20 October – 13 November | Full Circle House, Ixelles
The Bridge Theatre is delighted to announce that tickets for our debut play, Vincent River by Philip Ridley, are now on sale! As a recipient of our mailing list, you have the opportunity to scoop up your tickets before everyone else. So get booking before we tell the rest of Brussels!
Davey has seen something he can't forget. Anita has been forced to flee her home. These two have never met. Tonight their paths cross with devastating consequences.
Thrilling, heartbreaking and darkly humourous by turns, Vincent River explores the classic Ridley themes of loss, sexual identity, the family as a destructive force, East London and the redemptive power of storytelling.
For The Bridge Theatre’s debut production, Anita, the mother, will be played by Jo Castleton, who most recently played Rose Narracot in the National Theatre’s War Horse. She also played Siobhan in the National Theatre production of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. Davey, the young stranger, will be played by the upcoming talent, Jake McDaid.
The play will be directed by award-winning director, Robert Chevara, with design by Jess Curtis (set and costumes) and Mike Robertson (lights).
The Bridge Theatre aims to bring you theatre that is relevant and engaging. As such, we are now putting together a series of post-show talks by a range of interesting people to give their views on the issues raised in the play. The first one will be with the play’s director, Robert Chevara, on Friday 22 October. Stay tuned for details of other speakers!

Want to see more theatre like this? Become a Founding Patron!
We can only continue to go on the journey towards establishing an English-language theatre with your help. Becoming a Founding Patron means so much more to us than money; it is a sign of your support for the project and a vote in favour of us continuing. You can contribute from just €10.
We require financial assistance in this early stage in order to begin to pay salaries (we are currently a volunteer-led organisation) and invest in physical infrastructure. Donating money enables us to plan further professional theatre and community participation activities for 2022.
Please consider a donation. Thank you.
