In case you missed Friday’s mail, you can find it again below.
Your Voice Matters!
Back in June, Pascal Smet launched an initiative to give international residents of Brussels, who make up 1 in 3 inhabitants, a voice in how to improve the city. The initiative aims to make up for the fact that international residents cannot vote in regional elections (they can only vote at the commune level). The video above gives a short explanation of the idea.
Members of the public were able to submit ideas and, of course, we submitted our own proposal of how to make Brussels a more attractive city for international residents: through (you guessed it) establishing an English-language theatre!
Brusselers are now invited to vote on their favourite proposals. You can help us to raise the profile of English-language theatre by voting for our proposal! But hurry, voting closes on 31 October so do it now before you forget!
Time to buy your tickets for Vincent River
An intensive two-week rehearsal period will kick off on Monday 4 October for our debut play, Vincent River by Philip Ridley. Our award-winning director, Robert Chevara, will be leading our professional actors, Jo Castleton and Jake McDaid, through an intimate journey as they discover the loves and losses of our protagonists, Anita and Davey, as they deal with grief in the aftermath of a horrific hate crime.
Our fantastic performance venue, Full Circle House in Ixelles, has a capacity of just 150 people per performance. Booking early is very advisable as some performances are already close to full.
Wednesday 20 October - Saturday 13 November 2021
8pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays
5pm and 8pm on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays
Running time: 90 minutes
Age guidance: 15+
We do still have some €15 tickets left! A special tip for newsletter subscribers: there are more €15 tickets available during the first week at the Wednesday 20 October 8pm performance and the 5pm performances. So if you are looking for a bargain, start there!
p.s. Want to get a better flavour for the play? Then tune in to this month’s podcast, where Phil and Edward chat with Robert Chevara about the Vincent River, as well as his illustrious career as a director in theatre and opera.
