What to expect at The Bridge Theatre this summer
A Night at the Musicals, our Summer Workshop, Playreading Workshops and more!
Wait for Godot No Longer
The wait is over. Our brand new Playreading Workshops kick off this coming Wednesday 4 May. The first session focuses on the short plays of Irish playwright, Samuel Beckett, famous for Waiting For Godot, among other plays.
Registration to our Playreading Workshops is flexible so please do join us for an evening of theatrical exploration.
And don’t forget: our Playreading Workshops run alongside our ACT Workshops and our Weekend Workshops and it is not too late to get involved in either! Our Weekend Workshops have a group dedicated to 13-18-year-olds and are great way to introduce young people to the world of the performing arts! If you are a parent and think this could be suitable for your child, please do not hesitate to get in touch to find out more.
A Night at the Musicals
Join us on Tuesday 21 June for a magical Night at the Musicals. This special one-off event brings together some of Brussels’ own talented international musical theatre performers who are giving their time to perform in this wonderful revue show to help raise funds for The Bridge Theatre.
A Night at the Musicals will feature old favourites, as well as lesser-known songs, from musicals such as West Side Story, My Fair Lady, Crazy For You, Wicked, Moulin Rouge and many more.
Performing for your pleasure will be: Brussels-born soprano, Lavinia Huxham; Brazilian all-round musician, Beatriz Drummond; Israeli tenor, Ofri Gross; and The Bridge Theatre’s own Edward McMillan. They will be accompanied on-stage by the wonderfully talented pianist, Lionel Bams.
Tickets will go on sale soon, so keep an eye on our Facebook page or Twitter feed for the latest updates.
Young performers: 22-26 August is for YOU
Summer is fast approaching and that means it is time for our Summer Workshop!
Our Summer Workshop is an intense week of musical theatre for all aged between 10 and 18. Our participants get sessions in acting, singing and dancing and work towards a final showcase, performed for family and friends on the final Friday. Along the way they get to experience some pretty cool masterclasses. This year, we are going to be giving you a magical treat to amaze your loved ones.
Last year, we took the Greatest Showman as inspiration for our journey. We can’t announce the inspiration for this year’s Workshop just yet, but we are incredibly excited to meet some old and new REVOLTING CHILDREN a little later in August (yes, that’s a clue)!
And, for those of you over 18, don’t forget that on 8-10 July, we will have a full weekend acting workshop. More details soon!
